Let's Break it Down: Costs in Phu Quoc

I wasn't really sure what to expect when it comes to costs in Phu Quoc. Sure, Vietnam is known for being affordable, but we weren't on the mainland! Not only that, but we went to two, yes, TWO theme parks this month! How can you even fit two theme parks on an island?!
So let's get into it.
As always, first up is housing. We stayed in arguably the most beautiful Airbnb ever. Three bedroom, two bathroom, literally looking like it was straight out of a fairytale. Nicholas stayed with us, so that brought the cost down this month, and housing ended up costing us $297.44.

Bills are next, and this month was super high. We had an issue with my SIM card, so I bought a second SIM and cell plan halfway through the month. Also, I forgot to cancel my Duolingo Plus subscription. Oops. $149.91 for this month!
Next up are miscellaneous housing costs, which were super low this month (as always) at $45.47. This is kitchen supplies, toilet paper, gas for the scooters, etc.
Our health bill was also super high this month, all due to a protein powder fiasco. That stuff is so expensive! I'm switching to tofu and chicken breast next month...we paid $126.96.
We decided to rent scooters again this month since our house was a bit far away from everything. Luckily, the scooters in Phu Quoc are much cheaper than in Pangalo. We also ordered Grabs from time to time which were SUPER convenient in Phu Quoc. They were always there within five minutes of calling! Total transportation costs were $144.24.
Next we have street food. If you go to Vietanm, you MUST eat a Banh Mi. I usually don't like sandwiches, but this one had sweet pork and some sort of crazy spicy peppers, so it's a must. Also they cost under a dollar! We ended up paying $79.81 in total. Let it be known that I sneak my matcha lattes into street food, so that's why it's so high!
Next up is etc, which was $102.40. This included buying a helmet for the scooter and getting a super nice 90 minute massage for only $27! Also, you've got to try a "head spa." They massaged my head for an hour and honestly it was the best thing ever.

As I said, we went to two amusement parks and one zoo this month, so our tour bill was a little high at $253.19. But when you think about it, that's so low for all we did! The SunWorld water park was so sick, and VinWonders was like Disney Land! The zoo/safari was so awesome too, and getting to pet lemurs, tapirs, giraffes, elephants, and capybaras makes the cost not seem too high.

Let's finish up with food. $343.37 on groceries and $172.95 on restaurants this month! Honestly, I'm really happy with this! We had a great grocery store (King Kong Mart) 15 minutes away, and we shopped there a lot. For our produce and meat, we went to the local market where we found really great prices!
In total, we spent $1,765.47. This was our lowest month yet! We absolutely love Vietnam, and I can't wait to head out to Da Nang. Do you think prices will be even lower on the mainland?
